The helmet is the most important piece of safety equipment for motorcyclists — but only if it's the right size. If it's too big, it will move around and lose its effectiveness in the event of an impact. If it's too tight, it will quickly become uncomfortable over time. Here's how to choose the right one.
How to measure your head size
Take a flexible tape measure and measure the circumference of your head 2.5 cm above your eyebrows, at the base of your forehead — this is the widest part of your skull, as shown in the diagram. Note the measurement in centimeters.

Our advice
- If your measurement falls between two sizes, always choose the smaller size: the internal padding will compress with use and the helmet will loosen slightly after a few weeks.
- A well-fitting helmet should be firm without being constricting, and should not move when you shake your head up and down.
